Vitoria-Gasteiz rises as the strategic force and leadership engine of URBANEW EMC³!
It not only coordinates all the cities involved: it sets the course with its Strategic Plan for Rehabilitationthe map that will guide the transformation of every neighborhood and home towards a cleaner and more livable future.

From the analysis of your residential buildings -calculating investments, unraveling typologies and needs- to the design of the deployment of the One-Stop ShopsThe European Green Capital has developed a strategy that combines technique, organization and overall vision.

But its strength does not end in the offices: Vitoria-Gasteiz summons neighborhoods, administrations and companies to an epic participatory process. Workshops, debates and conclusions are intertwined to nurture the Strategic Plan for Rehabilitation, turning the voices of the community into compasses that guide every decision.

And as a guardian of resources, it raises the shield of financial innovation: it studies previous experiences, gathers key allies and co-creates formulas that break down economic barriers, making it possible for decarbonization to reach every home and every street.

Thus, Vitoria-Gasteiz, as part of the URBANEW EMC³not only leads: it inspires, connects and demonstrates that energy rehabilitation can be a great adventure in which intelligence, participation and collective courage write the destiny of our cities.

7 Spanish cities

Seven Spanish cities have decided to act in response to the growing threat of climate change. Thus was born URBANEW, a mission driven by the Mission Cities to transform urban environments by rehabilitating what has already been built, reducing emissions and generating a new way of living in cities.

To make this possible, a network of Super-Technicians, professionals with extraordinary skills in sustainability, regeneration and energy efficiency, joined forces to shape replicable, high-impact solutions.

Today this movement is growing in Europe and beyond, and the legacy that the seven cities started continues.
