Zaragoza
Building the city from the neighborhoods. It tests collaborative governance models with local agents to regenerate from the concrete.
In the heart of Zaragoza, a new mission is underway. The city council of Zaragoza together with Zaragoza Vivienda join forces to launch a community intervention plan in the Aloy Sala neighborhood, with a clear mission: to improve life in the neighborhood from the social and residential point of view.
The strength of this project lies in the active participation of neighbors and social agents, who become true heroes by deciding together the future of their environment. Its power combines social regeneration, urban sustainability and energy rehabilitation, creating a stronger, more united and healthier neighborhood.
The adventure begins with the recognition of all partners: neighbors, associations, institutions and owners.
Then comes the time to listen, gathering needs and concerns in interviews and meetings, to forge a shared diagnosis. On this basis, the main objectives will be set, prioritizing energy, social cohesion and improvement of the urban space, and establishing the strategy for action.
The mission will continue with the search for actions, from neighborhood initiatives to building rehabilitation.
7 Spanish cities
Seven Spanish cities have decided to act in response to the growing threat of climate change. Thus was born URBANEW, a mission driven by the Mission Cities to transform urban environments by rehabilitating what has already been built, reducing emissions and generating a new way of living in cities.
To make this possible, a network of Super-Technicians, professionals with extraordinary skills in sustainability, regeneration and energy efficiency, joined forces to shape replicable, high-impact solutions.
Today this movement is growing in Europe and beyond, and the legacy that the seven cities started continues.
