In URBANEW EMC3, the city of Seville dons superpowers to confront one of the greatest villains of our time: climate change. From its rooftops to the most hidden corners, a tireless team is deploying sensors and knowledge to rescue buildings from energy waste and give them back their strength.

First, as true guardians of comfort, they monitor 200 buildings - schools, health centers, offices - measuring temperature, humidity, CO₂ and air quality. With that data, they create predictive models that allow them to decide, with surgical precision, where to act to achieve maximum impact: fewer emissions, more efficiency, more well-being.

But their mission does not stop there. With regulatory courage, they are paving the way for building regulations to include mandatory energy rehabilitation criteria. Thus, when a heat wave hits or a neighborhood suffers from high energy consumption, the law will force them to respond with solutions that protect people and the planet.

Urbanew 2.0 is not just a technical project: it is an epic crusade in which science, politics and citizenship join forces. Each sensor is a shield, each piece of data a ray of light, each regulation a sword against waste. Seville becomes a laboratory and a fortress, opening the way to a future in which cities are allies, not victims, of the climate.

Will you join the league that makes energy rehabilitation a heroic adventure?

7 Spanish cities

Seven Spanish cities have decided to act in response to the growing threat of climate change. Thus was born URBANEW, a mission driven by the Mission Cities to transform urban environments by rehabilitating what has already been built, reducing emissions and generating a new way of living in cities.

To make this possible, a network of Super-Technicians, professionals with extraordinary skills in sustainability, regeneration and energy efficiency, joined forces to shape replicable, high-impact solutions.

Today this movement is growing in Europe and beyond, and the legacy that the seven cities started continues.
