Valladolid disseminates the importance of investing in rehabilitation

The City Council of Valladolid has focused its efforts within the Urbanew project on the dissemination of the relevance of rehabilitation in different areas, both internally in different areas of the Consistory and externally taking advantage of related projects supported by the local entity that add to the objectives of the pilot in the city. In addition, it has carried out the internal organization of the planning of events and actions to be developed with respect to Urbanew in the current year.

The pilot of the Castilian and Leonese capital is in the implementation phase of the actions planned to complete the objectives, defining how to address the classroom blocks of training and the closure of actions internally to complete the training objectives of the technical staff of the City Council linked to the rehabilitation of buildings.

As for the next steps to be taken in the achievement of the project, they will soon be shared with the consortium in order to make progress in the cross-cutting blocks of work and complete the commitment of the city's agents who have participated in the different actions to continue with the exchange of experiences that will help to progress efficiently towards the massive rehabilitation of the building stock.

In the coming months, Valladolid will host an on-site seminar on blocks 4 and 5 of the training course given by Cesefor on Sustainable Construction and Biomaterials. In addition, in collaboration with the University of Valladolid, rehabilitation solutions will be studied in several existing spaces in the city. It is also planned to develop the work block based on financing issues for rehabilitation.

The City Council of Valladolid participated in November in EKOGAR, organized in collaboration with the University of Valladolid, through a Technical Conference on sustainable building under the title 'Decarbonization of homes and buildings with heat pumps' held at the School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Valladolid, presenting the advantages and challenges of heat pumps as a key technology for energy efficiency and emissions reduction in modern buildings.
