The Zaragoza City Council has initiated the participatory process for the elaboration of a community diagnosis of the CUI Aloy Sala, as well as for the definition of objectives and actions aimed at improving the quality of life, the urban environment, social cohesion and the rehabilitation of buildings. This action is part of the European project EMC3 (Enabling Massive Change for Climate-neutral Cities).
The first session of the process was held last Friday, October 24, with the participation of more than forty local stakeholders, including municipal services, neighborhood, social and educational organizations, as well as neighbors from the surrounding area.
The invitation to participate has been extended to a wide range of agents present in the neighborhood, with the aim of promoting an active and plural participation that reflects the reality of the territory. The project seeks to promote the involvement of neighbors and social agents in decision making about their environment, strengthening the community fabric and fostering collaboration between the different local actors. This process has the technical assistance of Fractal Strategy.
During this first session, the EMC3 project, its objectives and the methodological development of the participatory process were presented. The initiative will be developed in three phases: a first stage of diagnosis that will last until December, a second phase of definition of objectives and actions between January and April, and a final phase of return and closure scheduled for the months of May and June.
