Valladolid completes the energy rehabilitation course given by Cesefor

Valladolid hosts energy rehabilitation course and builds a full-scale mock-up

The city of Valladolid has completed training in energy rehabilitation with biomaterials with the construction of a full-scale mock-up by Cesefor.

The Urbanew project has held two face-to-face sessions on energy rehabilitation of buildings and rehabilitation solutions with low carbon footprint in the Castilian and Leonese capital.

These face-to-face sessions close the 'Sustainable Rehabilitation Course' in online mode that was launched by the Agency for Innovation and Economic Development of Valladolid (IdeVa) last year, with the collaboration of Cesefor, Club Madera and Maderaula with the collaboration of the School of Architecture of the University of Valladolid (Uva).

The Graduate Hall of the ETS of Architecture of the UVa hosted the technical conference in which some of the specific parameters to be taken into account for the construction with wood and biomaterials were analyzed, analyzing impacts, cost, qualities and footprints. Software and design methodologies were used to select appropriate solutions, selecting one to build a full-scale model of them.

The second day, also held at the School of Architecture, although in the area outside the parking lot, consisted of an experimental wood construction workshop. Attendees discovered the versatility of bio-based materials, learned about innovative construction tools and systems, and participated in the creation of real construction solutions. They worked with industrialized prefabricated elements for facades, including the construction of a full-scale mock-up that could be manipulated.
